Ha Huynh My

Although having passionate about fine arts, especially oil painting field, since childhood, Ha Huynh My did not ave an opportunity to express her passion for it. However, Ha Huynh My never gave up hope to make her dream come true even at the age of 50s.

In 1995, she fortunately met and received the official training in the arts from two Vietnamese professionals: Phan Mai Truc, master of fine arts professor of the school of fine arts, Ho Chi Minh city and Le Quang Luan teacher of Ha Huynh My member of fine arts association, Ha Huynh My had been working non-stop enthusiastically ever since. In 2003, she finally gave birth to her first oil painting collection sponsored by Ben Thanh Art & Frame. At the exhibition, her works were highly appreciated, such as, “mother and child”, “the hawker in the early morning”, “the little market stall”, “the flower market”, “the bride”, and so on”. This became a turning point and an inspiration to her career.

Ha Huynh My has turned a keen eye on many ways to capture pictures that seem very ordinary of various life styles of Vietnamese but extremely beautiful in her eye. With the profound understanding and sympathy as a woman, she has particularly focused on women’s lives in her works. Her paintings are quite stories not merely images. People could picture happiness of charming girls dressing in “Ao dai”, traditional Vietnamese dresses, after school with “…ao dai…”

“My’s paintings have demonstrated a very own style emphasizing the Classical Realism assimilated with a bit of the impressionism. She paints not only by her skillful hands but also by her soul, ears and heart, which she calls “The passion”.
